ICKLE+ - Shared Reading Guidance - Leeds for Learning - 10/01/23
We've partnered with Leeds Libraries and Leeds City Council to promote a new guide for parents and carers on how to best support young children through shared reading.
This leaflet can be downloaded from the ICKLE website here, and provides top tips on book sharing and outlines some of the reasons why shared reading is so beneficial, not only for promoting a child’s love of reading, but also for helping to improve language development and imagination.
This guidance has been translated into some of the most commonly spoken languages across Leeds: Arabic, Czech, Kurdish, Polish, Punjabi, Romanian, Tigrinya and Urdu, to ensure that it reaches a large number of families.
