Reception Reading Stars - Mini-festival - 25/10/22

Families in Leeds enjoyed a 'booktastic' October half-term mini-festival held by Reception Reading Stars at the Leeds Central Library.

Families got the chance to meet some of the award-winning authors who inspired the Reception Reading Stars reading list whilst enjoying a variety of hands-on activities.

The mini-festival was in celebration of the Reception Reading Stars project which runs during the summer before a child begins reception. The project provides an opportunity for children starting school to meet up with other children that will be in their reception class during the summer and aims to promote simple shared reading activities to help foster a love of books and reading.

Our very own Dr. Paula Clarke and Dr. Hannah Nash were there from the ICKLE+ team to meet with families and share information and resources on shared reading. You can find some of the shared reading resources on our website here.
