Are you an educator working in a mainstream primary school?

The Impact of Covid-19 on Key Learning and Education (ICKLE) project studied the impact of school closures during 2020 and 2021 on a group of approximately 450 of the youngest pupils in Leeds and found that more than two-thirds of six-year-olds were a year or more behind their expected attainment level when they reached the end of Year 1.

Now the ICKLE+ team are looking for educators (headteachers, deputies, SENCos, Teaching assistants, Literacy leads) who would be interested in contributing to the project. It involves watching a 15 minute recorded presentation about the project and then attending a 1 hour online focus group meeting (on MS Teams) in which we will ask for opinions and ideas regarding our project findings and recommendations. Contributions will be anonymised and then summarised in a report which will be shared with local and national education organisations at a workshop later this year. There are 30 places and we will be running five meetings with 6 participants in each throughout February 2023. They will be scheduled at times to suit participants and as a thank you, all involved will receive a £10 Amazon voucher.
